WORK EXPERIENCE:
Mr. Sherwood, of counsel of Hartig, Rhodes, Hoge & Lekisch, P.C., focuses his practice in the areas of municipal law, native law, land use and real estate, utility regulation, and natural resource and environmental law.
Prior to joining Hartig, Rhodes, Hoge & Lekisch, P.C. in 2009, Mr. Sherwood worked for the North Slope Borough for ten years; first as an Assistant Borough Attorney and then Borough Attorney for five years. After a move to Anchorage he continued working for the Borough as Special Counsel in the Division of Government and External Affairs. He also a JAG with the Alaska Air National Guard.
From 1986 to 1988 Mr. Sherwood worked in private practice in Minnesota. In 1988 he became an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate and transferred to Elemendorf AFB, Alaska. He left the Air Force in 1993 and moved to Kenai where he worked as an Assistant District Attorney for five years.
