Ms. Hyatt represents purchasers and sellers in complex real estate matters, including negotiating and drafting agreements, advising on due diligence investigations, title and survey issues, review and drafting of conveyance and closing documents, assignments, and easements, residential and complex commercial leases, advising on a variety of land issues for ANCSA Native corporations, and litigating landlord/tenant actions. Ms. Hyatt forms and advises business organizations. She renders opinions on real property, secured financing transactions, and business organization matters. She drafts numerous commercial contracts involving a variety of purposes. She regularly assists 50+ employers in employment law matters, including defending administrative discrimination and harassment claims and wrongful terminations, discrimination, and harassment litigation, advising clients on personnel decisions, policy manuals, wage and hour matters including Davis Bacon and Little Davis Bacon issues, and drafting employment contracts, job descriptions, and employee policy manuals. Ms. Hyatt represents bidders and procuring entities in government procurement challenges and in drafting bid documents. Ms. Hyatt is the contact attorney for the firm's representation of FDIC and is responsible for all administrative aspects of working with FDIC which involved assigning and coordinating work on hundreds of cases for all commercial attorneys of the firm. Chris Hyatt was the managing shareholder for Hartig Rhodes from 1992-94. Prior to joining Hartig Rhodes Hoge & Lekisch, she was a partner in a law firm located in Centralia, Illinois for six years and practiced in real estate litigation and transactions, securities and RICO litigation, business organizations, contracts, franchising, bankruptcy, and municipal law, as well as having significant management responsibilities for the law firm. Ms. Hyatt taught business management and personnel courses at Southern Illinois University. Before practicing law and teaching college, she participated on management teams of various health care organizations and as an internal auditor for a large university. Ms. Hyatt is a frequent lecturer on employment, real estate, and business organizations. |
